More Info: A vibrant orange wine made mostly from Albariño grapes. The whole bunches are left to macerate for 30–50 days, giving the wine its gorgeous colour, bold flavours, and lovely structure.
Fermentation takes place in both stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, before the wine rests on its lees for 10 months to develop extra texture and complexity.
It’s bottled without filtering, fining, or added SO₂ — a naturally made, low-intervention wine that lets the grapes do the talking.
Tucked away in the South-East corner of Wales, right on the border with England, this Demeter-certified Biodynamic and Organic estate enjoys the natural shelter of the Cambrian Mountains and Brecon Beacons to the North and West.
Ancre Hill vineyard sits at around 50° North latitude, right at the edge of where grapes can ripen - producing fresh, vibrant wines with crisp acidity and pure, expressive fruit character. From its 9-hectare estate, around 30,000 bottles of wine are made each year.
At Ancre Hill, it’s believed that great wine is made in the vineyard. The work in the winery simply preserves the potential gathered at harvest - never adding, only revealing. The wines here are a true reflection of their place, with the ancient mudstone and sandstone soils giving each bottle its distinctive character and natural flavour. No unnecessary intervention, no manipulation - just honest, expressive wines.
