Tasting Notes: A brilliantly fresh and full-bodied wine with round sweet fruit flavours. This is a modern style of Barbera that's both elegant and complex with supple, moderate tannins and a long finish. Luscious marasca cherry and red berry fruits on the palate lead to a velvety texture and acidity softened by one year ageing in barrel.

Region: Piedmont, Italy

Varieties: 100% Barbera
ABV: 13.5%
Closure: Cork

Pairing: Sausage casserole, Chili Con Carne or pasta Puttanesca

More Info: The Sperone family's 17th century villa sits on top of a hill in Casalotto di Mombaruzzo, near Asti, in the heart of Monferrato, Piedmont. Antonio Sperone started making wine in 1911 and the tradition continues to this day, implementing some of his rural techniques alongside modern technology. Francesca and Andrea Sperone, the 94th generation of the family, now lead the business with 30 hectares of their own vineyards making some of the finest Italian wines.
