More Info: Chenin grapes are hand picked from dry farmed old bush vines. There is slight skin contact to extract phenolic flavour and ripeness before fermentation, which takes place in steel to preserve the bright fruit profile. Two months of full lees contact with regular stirring gives richness and texture to the wine.
Made by the Black Elephant Vintners, who call themselves ‘Rebels of the Vine’. They push the boundaries in a traditional industry and are having fun with their wines as seen by their labels. Based in the quaint village of Franschhoek (translated as French corner in Dutch), Kevin, Jacques and Raymond came together to combine their diverse skills and creativity to make great wine. They took inspiration from their surnames to become the Black Elephant Vintners - Swart and Ndlovu become `Black Elephant` and Jacques is the Vintner! Their wines are inspired by good tunes and they firmly believe that music and wine make the best pairing.
